- The Return of the Governor Shepard Statue to the District Building: In 2005, thanks to a decade-long campaign lead by Rimensnyder, a statue of the District’s native son, Union Army Veteran, Vice-president of Public Works and Territorial Governor Alexander Robey Shepherd, was return to a place of prominence in downtown DC after years of exile in a city empoundment lot.
